To prove that a working sheepdog can become a competent trials competeitor, Jones takes two very different dogs and their handlers through their paces on his farm in the scenic Welsh countryside. Donna Jones is a shepherdess in North Wales and her dog Zak is one of several working with a large flock of sheep. In contrast, market researcher Marion Turner's dog Lynne is kept on a smallholding in the south of England. The skills of the handlers are assessed by Glyn, who encourages more positive commands when needed. He also helps them correct a number of common faults made by the dog at the lift and when turnig the sheep towards a gate or pen. Graphics showing right and wrong in the dog's movements around the course are particularly useful. This video will enable handlers to bring out the competition potential of every good farm dog.
