Threshers & Threshing - VHS. The glory days of threshing were when the threshing equipment traveled from farm to farm with the steam traction engine or the tractor. This video shows the development of threshing techniques from the flail to the combine, and in particular the threshing machine. It explains clearly the technology of the thresher and shows drums working with portable engines and tractors. Retired farm workers recall the skills and hard work of the threshing gangs over fifty years ago.
